My friend was feeling down

So we Taxi’d into town to catch a local band

Before I knew it I was up

Dancing round the room just like a fool

My quick wit and rapport

Only seemed to bore him and he shook his head

Into a Jack and coke he sighed

Between the Ace of Spades and Wonderwall

He said

What am I dancing for ?

What ami laughing for?

The drummer hit the beat

The melody rang out and it lifted me

High above the stars - out into the cosmos of my mind

Now it might have been the weed

It might have been the beers and the tequila shots

But I didn’t give a damn

I was glad to be alive

I turned my baseball cap around

I pulled a funny face

And I lost my mind a while
