I met her at the train station

Both with our baggage in tow

Not quite sure of our destination, but we

Knew we had somewhere to go

I with my toolbox ready to conquer

She with her heart and no plan of attack

I set to go where my feet might wander

She who could stop me dead in my tracks

But that first line to the next frontier

Had too many knowing looks

But I swear I could've sat there for years

To grab whatever train she took

She with her mile long list of excuses

I who knew they were all fearful lies

I who'd already been up and through it

She with the rest of the world on her mind

I with my prayers sent on up to cupid

She with some courage still left to find

I set to love her fully and foolish

She said she'd catch me further down the line

But I am her and she is I

I always hoping her wheels were in motion

She who was born to a swayed by the tide

She with her toes dipped into the ocean

I set to greet her on the other side
