Couldn't find the words to make myself clear

Ended up sounding insincere

We're not as perfect as we appeared to be at first glance

I thought you knew me but I was wrong

The novelty hadn't worn off

And I hesitated too long, I missed my first chance

Never mind what I said

I can't find what I meant

There's something 'bout you that I can't place

Something familiar 'bout your face

And I expected our embrace to be so comfortable

But that's the problem with daydreams

Nothing's as simple as it seems

When all it takes is honesty to make a heart go cold

In the safest of havens

Strong emotions laid naked

And we couldn't contain them

Filled the space between our faces
