Little Blue Children

LITTLE BLUE CHILDREN

As soon as they were born they were shaking in their beds

Crazy from the chemicals living in their heads

They watched as we dug a couple of holes

One for their bodies, one for their souls

And stole away in quiet to the perilous road

These little blue children

Stared into their glass skin

These little blue children

The sun gave the water an ominous glow

As we hit the boats and we started to row

We traveled in the night, we followed all our hearts

The storms hit quick, we quarreled in the dark

Some fled the vessel, were lost to the sharks

These little blue children

Their grip began tightening

These little blue children of ours

Something that moves outside of your eye

Shocked from a trance, terrified

Swim off to let these boats go down

Too addled to float, too lost to drown

Once on shore we got the magnitude

We looked to each other, left to conclude

There was no illusion left to elude

These little blue children

They stumble and darken

These little blue children of ours
