This is not what I expected, as I contemplate my reflection

By the light of the bedroom window, who would ever say life is simple?

Lately in dreams I’ve been hearing the name I used to call you

So to make myself feel better, I sat down and wrote you this letter

“Long as men can breathe and eyes can see, this will live and give life to you and me”

In my dream I’ve been hearing the name I used to call you

Time passes, but how? Are we that much older now?

Yesterday I walked by our old place, would you know me if you saw my face?

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day

I still have your picture pressed inside a locket
