Thank God

I've always held you higher

than the rest,

yeah I have let u define

a part of me, so I've been looking for someone I can't find

I guess you pay the price

For looking through those eyes

I've tried the distant country

No one knows where is, but everyone's known

I tore my shoe

Cuz freedom took me places I wouldn't go

I guess I've paid the price

For walking all those miles/all the miles

I didn't even think about it

It's funny how i'd trust

Only in my gut

That kept me looking back

At what could have been

Even though it took me quite a while

I've learned a lot through the trials

For that Im grateful, and I'm thanking God

that we didn't work out

it's like the first pancake

we weren't meant to be great

Had to learn that things don't always turn out how i want them to

So I put my trust in him who knows me better than I do

Funny how my gut

Never seems to trust

everything is just

how It's supposed to be
