Six Months

Out on the road, it sure gets lonely at night

I get that music turned up and keep them spotlights on high

I've had these wheels rollin' for damn near thirteen hours

And I'm gettin' so tired my eyes are spinnin' around

Doesn't really matter which way I go

Seems it's always uphill on both sides of the road

Through the bugs on my windshield I can see one thing clear

I need a six-month vacation two times a year

When I got home, my wife had already packed

She said she's headed out of town and she ain't never comin' back

Well, she left me the dog and a few bills overdue

And if I want my truck back, I'll have to pay her for that, too

Doesn't seem fair, no, it don't feel right

How can a love go this wrong without puttin' up a fight?

If I have to be honest, I ain't upset I won't see her

I gotta do somethin', yeah, there has to be a way

That I can shave off some work and add a little more play

If I don't make that change soon, I won't get another shot

To go down where the beer's cold and the weather stays hot

I'll tell you what I done, I went and sold my house

Gave away all my stuff and now I'm headed down south

To a little old town with a bar right on the sand

I'll drink cheap tequila and cancel all of my plans

Thought I'd been livin', how wrong I truly was

You may think that I'm crazy, now I do what I does

If you bring up my old life, you won't see me shed a tear
