PALOMINO

I came to this town, a singer of songs

With a guitar and stories of where I come from

I found me a corner to do what I do

Sing about life and don’t ya know most of it’s true

That white water raging in Colorado

Was a cowboy in Texas and I loved it so

In the Montana mountains, got covered in snow

That damn heartbreak in San Diego

One about traveling and nice places to go

Far away from here at the Palomino

I broke down in Winslow, was hot as 9 hells

Spent time in Nashville with the devil himself

Drank his fine whiskey and gave him my soul

That damn heart break in New Mexico

The hour was late and I was picking mighty slow

A drunk at the bar said one more for the road

He bought me a drink so I played him a tune

About coyotes at midnight and gunfights at high noon

Got locked up in Georgia and wrongfully so

Then I head out to Prescott and the old rodeo

Danced with a woman that I'd get to know
