Tell Me Where You Went

I woke up at 4:30am, couldn’t go back to sleep

 Maybe I missed a chance to see you in my dreams

 And now the things I have to do start taking up space and the thought of you

it moves further away

 My daughter is awake and she is starting her day

 It’s still dark outside, that’s starting to change

 I unfold a few things and close up some others

 Until the sun comes up, I sit here and wonder

 Tell me where you went, we just call it dying

 If all of our dreams are lost I don’t think I can stand it

 The next day he told us that he woke up with you on his mind

 I never thought I’d see the day, wrong time, wrong place, wrong model, wrong
