Rollin' down a midnight highway

Wishin' you were sittin' beside me but you ain't

Half-smoked joint snuffed out in my ashtray

That oughta get me to Port A

I only think about it when I'm high on red wine

Rest of the day I seem to be just fine

Gonna head down South to the coastline

Have a little me time

I dare that tide to reach my chair

I don't even want nobody knowin' I'm down here

I came to free my mind

And have a little me time

Invite that sand between my toes

Maybe get a little sunburn on my nose

Chill out and see how it goes

Hangin' with the Gulf of Mexico

I wrote my troubles in the sand today

And smiled as the tide

Washed them all away

I dare that tide to reach my chair

Ended up being my best friend down there

Headed home my mind's all clear
