歌詞

Hey Now did you hear that
I think the highway just called my name
It said come and join me and i'll set you free
But uh we all know freedom means nothing left to lose
But if you got nothing left to lose you've got
Everything to gain, everything to gain
And those black lines and the little white crosses
Tell the tale and score the losses
Yeah those Black lines and the little white crosses
Tell the tale and score the losses
Gotta keep on pushing til you get back home
Til you get back home til you get back home yeah
Well I was just outside of Reno Bout mile marker 75
Rollin down Interstate 80 i was making pretty good time
I saw those headlights facing west in the ditch of an eastbound track
And judging from the skid marks they were going way too fast
So i hit the brakes and pulled to the side and that's where i found her lying'
In the broken glass and pill bottles of her past
Breaker one nine come on back, I could use some help, a trucker finally answered
Said he'd call the sheriff when he made next truck stop
She couldn't walk so I picked her up and carried her to the car
I gave her my old serape and tried to get her warm
The deputy showed a couple hours later and asked her if she had ID
She held up her empty hand and said I'm from California
That was followed by some haunting laughter and i can still hear it today
The sheriff and i just stood there shivers running down our spines
Well we looked around and found her purse lying in the dirt
He called in the name he found on her license issued by the golden state
Turns out her family had been searching for a least a couple weeks
And I'm sure her children were crying mama when you coming home
When you coming home, when you coming home
And those black lines and the little white crosses
Tell the tale and score the losses
Yeah those Black lines and the little white crosses
Tell the tale and score the losses
Gotta keep on pushing til you get back home
Til you get back home til you get back home yeah
Keep rollin
Gotta keep on movin
Gotta keep on pushin
Till you get back home
Gotta Keep rollin
Gotta keep on movin
Gotta keep on pushin
Till you get back home
