It's not every day when I feel myself exploding

I don't mean that metaphorically, it's not hyperbole

I mean, I have a dream where I see myself eroding

I can feel it when I'm sleeping, like a pillow between my knees

I know I'm not supposed to tap the glass

But in my hand I have a hammer and if I don't use it I lose it

I'm good at keeping quiet

I write it on my resume and tell it to everybody that I meet

I sit in traffic and I stare blankly at the brake lights

Am I still driving? I should probably check

Cause sometimes I feel like I might be going in reverse

I try to calm myself down and let it be

But it's hard not to be curious about things that are killing me
