My old buddy Joe's mama called

I knew there was something wrong the way her voice cracked

She said his test came back

I went to see him when my shift was done

Wondering what do you say to someone

Who just found out

They've only got a few months now

Took a deep breath

Opened the door

And to my surprise

He was sitting in the living room floor with a big ole smile

I've been reliving the good times

Diggin up pictures and having a rewind

God dealt me a pretty good deal

Like the time we went down to Daytona beach

Ran into those girls that were out of our league

But we told them we played for USC

And we danced and we drank and we loved for the rest of the week

We looked at yearbooks and played some songs

Threw back some beers and sang along

Laughed till we cried

Man the time flew by

About then his wife Jessie walked into the room

Said don't you outlaws know it's half past two
