FEEL ME

Why can’t you feel me, the way you did before

I start this letter knowing better than my former self, dumb as hell

Living unknowing you wanna show and tell

You had some feelings, I had feelings that would often swell

But taking any action quite honestly made me scared as well

You always had a value deeper than the rest

From the second that I met you knew in our lives we weren’t guests

So much respect from the offset, I always was impressed

Somehow despite our honesty we weren’t really friends

We hid a sacred piece, we held it and concealed it from each other

Perhaps if we had had less fear in time

Maybe, we could have recovered

Now I find myself wondering where you are

I know I’m somewhere farther in your memories

But somewhere dark and deep

I know you feel me, the way you did before

I’m calling, but you’re ignoring

Something so clear to me, the way we were before

We’re always cosmically calling

Not falling from you

Once upon a time you wrote me a song or two

Took years to admit it, but it all rang true, so now I’m at this crossroads in my life

On a steady path, I’d hate myself forever if I didn’t ask

I can’t explain exactly why I cant let go

Can’t believe all the words we left unspoke

I’m sick of fuckin’ holding in, sickly and heartbroke

So with a blessing, please understand I’ll cope

But first I have to acknowledge every feeling that I have

Cos every one is beautiful, although sometimes they make me sad

Cos that’s just reality, some time’s you can;t get back

And some heartbreak causes distances, despite love being fact

Growing up and realizing the art within the act

No knife left in my back, my soul to yours attracts

But why can’t you feel me, the way you did before
