I Demand That There Are Consequences

I walk in ready for my morning spin,

But something feels wrong before it even begins.

The trainer smiles, says, “Welcome today!”

But I’m no fool - I know what they’re trying to say.

That grin was smug, that tone had sass,

Who do they think they are, teaching this class?

During stretches, they adjusted my form,

Said, “Let’s keep your posture aligned and warm.”

Excuse me, what’s that supposed to mean?

I’m not incompetent - I’m a workout queen!

And then they offered me a towel - how rude,

Like I can’t handle sweat without their interlude.

(It’s passive-aggressive, it’s all a disguise,

Their fake little gestures don’t fool my eyes.)

I demand that there’s a consequence!

Their politeness just makes no sense!

They refilled my water - what a sneaky ploy,

Trying to act like they’re here to bring joy.

But I see the truth, they think they’re so smart,

That busybody is mocking me, from the start.

I need respect, not their little games,

This is a gym, not a hall of shame!

Sweet kindness? I see the disrespect behind!)
