We sat in silence after the news we heard

Somebody we loved had just left this world

“What’s the point of all of this if we have no choice?”

We felt so happy, so innocent

Our only fears were the monsters in the books

We didn’t give a fuck about how we looked

Dreams as big as limousines

We’d be rich and famous, have everything we need

Will we be diamonds? Will we be gold?

Or that chapter in a story where we’re happy and old?

Will we rust in style?

Like a Malibu sunset that stretches on for miles

On and on for miles

We drank tequila to drown our fears
