OK to Go

Someone said you’d stick around.

If I asked you, you’d be found where you’ve been all along.

And even though I know they’re wrong I understand what they meant.

And recognize their intent.

I never had to say to you what we all knew was true.

That even though it hurts me so you should know that it’s ok to go.

What you gave, what you leave, is sometimes more than I can believe

So many moved so many taught so much feeling so much thought

I'll always see you the way you’re before the end you’d bravely endure.

I do not have the faith you showed that helped you down that final road

And even though it hurts me so I know you know that it’s ok to go.

A perfect person you were not, but I’m so grateful for what I got

I’m so blessed to have had a man like you as my Dad.
