Baja Blast

My parents parted early, they split the silverware

I went to another world between them somewhere

That day I found out nothing is ever gonna last

So I rode my bike to Taco Bell, to get a Baja Blast

Cops are in the alley, someone’s being cruel

Yusuf’s sister Frenchie watches me while dad’s at school

Mom’s in San Diego, I’m introduced to God

By a woman down the street who’s giving us kids candy bars

I survived a murder I survived divorce

Judge me if you want to, Judge me cuz I curse

It ain’t nothing to me, God will do his best

He’ll either be a failure or He’ll be a success

My best friend died of cancer, at his funeral

I dropped a piece of Jesus then ate him like a fool

My tears and snot were mingled, with my savior’s blood

My unsanitary hand dipped into the public cup

I moaned a bitter moaning then I sang the sweetest song

With my disappointed people, to our disappointing God

our preacher gave no answers, for he had none to give

That is when we knew our precious Lord was in our midst

Oh I survived a sickness I survived a death

I survived watching my brother taking his final breath

Judge me if you want to, Judge me for everything

Judge me for this Mountain Dew it makes me wanna sing

Let’s survive not knowing What’s around the bend

Let’s survive our greatest glory coming to an end

Can we survive these Facebook posts and all this pettiness

I know that God will help us Let’s put him to the test

I wish I was a drummer, I wish I played the bass

Wish I could sing like Whitney melt everybody’s face

But I surrender everything, so let’s go to the mall

And get an Orange Julius, get a Cinnabon

I’m a California Condor, I’m a kid whose hair is red

In danger of extinction, but I’m back from the dead

I’m pretty sure the love of God is always gonna last

So let’s all got to Taco Bell and get a Baja blast
