Floating onwards, facing down

Forlorn spirits in white gowns

Yellow flowers in each hand (The sky above's been empty for days)

Slowly turning into sand (No shaft of light, just eternal grey)

Trailing gold in their wake

Rivers of petals fly through the air

Spirits turn to the sky

Cast the world in shadow as they depart

Turn my eyes skyward and realise

That a tower of frigid stone has encircled me

Press my palms to the walls

Are they ascending or am I just sinking?
