Sometimes I feel prickly, I want to be alone,

Don’t want to go outside, I’d rather stay at home.

I’m a prickly porcupine, hiding in my den,

Don’t knock at my door, for I won’t let you in.

A message in a bubble for I am prickly too,

My spines are sharp for my defense, and they might prickle you.

For I’m a spiny Sea Urchin, at the bottom of the sea,

Behind a rock, feeling small, so no one will notice me.

You know we are so much alike, and you sound just like me,

Although we are so far apart, on land and in the sea.

We cannot hug, or snuggle, Because we’re prickly,

So message me in a bubble, and float it up to me!

Because you care, and I do, too, we can be friends this way,

With smiles and bubbles, we’ll ”Pop” our troubles, find a new way to play.

We’ll share our thoughts and feelings, so we won’t feel blue.

On those days when we’re prickly, I can count on you!

So bubbles went up and bubbles went down, they found a new way to share,

Just knowing that they liked each other, and took the time to care.

When we talk and listen to others, our problems start to shrink

Soon we can smile and go outside, it’s easier than you think.
