歌詞

Back through the corridor where hushlines draw tight
The Wanderling followed the borrowed light
Two shadows went inward where silence lay thin
The hollowpath closing around them within
No cry split the air and no tremor was heard
No signal misfired and no warning occurred
The corridor folded its lavender seam
And one gentle heartbeat slipped out of the dream
A softness enclosed where blossom would part
A closeness that swallowed the rest of his heart
The Wanderling vanished in petal soft air
Not fleeing not fighting just no longer there
Then out of the hollow where echoes fell flat
A round little shape stepped gentle as that
Its outline was perfect its glow almost right
A careful resemblance wearing his light
It brushed at a blossom he'd touched every day
The petals recoiled and folded away
A lullaby wavered remembered but wrong
It circled the ring house with borrowed small grace
Studying doorways that once knew his face
The trellis leaned nowhere the lanterns stayed low
The forest unsure of the thing in his glow
For deep in the corridor folded and dim
The Wanderlings warmth no longer lived in
From blossom to root something faltered in doubt
As someone familiar quietly stepped out
The stillness grew heavier holding its breath
Unsure what had crossed
Or what had met death
Its footsteps were gentle but careful and new
A mimic rehearsing the motions it knew
The mosspads recalled where his true weight once led
But nothing beneath them believed he still tread
So softly it wandered in patterns it stole
A version of Wanderling missing a soul
And anyone watching in lavender gleam
Would know something had eaten
The one full of dream
