Woke up to the warning

It read “missile incoming”

I texted some people my love and thanks

Then poured all the fish food into the tank

And we crawled back in bed

Kaitlyn and I in clean flannel sheets

Pathetically trying to watch Modern Family

I started to cry as I held you tight

But how useless is that?

Turned our attention to our cat purring in our lap
