I was on Melrose by myself and

I just felt this overwhelming sense of dread

Because I knew I had to come back

And deal with the actual responsibilities and actual life

Instead of just being in the moment

And acknowledging that I literally managed to do something

That's allowed me to fly to California and just hang out for a bit

I missed my flight back home on purpose

Just so I could stay in the sunshine for a bit longer

And then I spent the whole week just being stressed out

Because I made this decision to stay in the most beautiful place I've ever been

With my best friends

Sometimes I think it's hard to look around and realize

That you're already in the place you wanted to be years ago

And there's really no point in feeling bummed that you aren't somewhere else

It's like that David Foster Wallace speech where he talks about life just being water

At the end of the day, everyone, regardless of your job, or family, or money, or whatever

Is just trying to stay above water

So when you feel like you're drowning, you just have to look around and realize

Everyone else is drowning, too

It's so much easier to say that than it is to just feel it in the moment

But I just feel like I'm missing out on so much beautiful stuff in my life
