As I lay under this full moon window

Bright light shines like night for day.

It fills this room with hope and healing

Giving me courage to find my way.

 

Since I'm not sleeping, I take a walk then

To prove to me I'm not afraid.

The moon illuminates the darkened footpath

So I won't stumble at the gate.

Along the road I tread with purpose

Bathed in midnight's special glow.

Though I may be the only traveler

I don't feel like I'm alone.

Is this heaven or is this Houston

Or just one more slight of eye

It might be real or an illusion

I'll always treasure as years pass by

Some thirty minutes on my journey

I meet another nightwalking soul

Wearing a face of calm and patience

So we walk together down this road.

 

It's not long till we encounter

More souls traveling this special night.

Tranquility brings peace in numbers

We shed our sorrows in this light.

Is this heaven or is this Houston

Or just one more slight of eye

It might be real or an illusion

I'll always treasure as years pass by

 

Then I wake up the next morning

Sun through that window brings a different light.

I was filled with love and hope and purpose

From that full moon window on that peaceful night.
