Jesus and Earnhardt

It ain't easy watching someone who's lived pedal to the metal have to hit the brakes

All the proof he lived for speed is sitting right there in a trophy case

He always said he wanted to be riding right next to number 3

Now he spends every Sunday watching re-run races on the TV

By the way he’s talking

He says it won’t be long

He’ll be on the other side

Waiting on that checkered flag to fall… he said

I talked to Jesus last night

He told me it’s just about time to

And take that forever drive

I’ll be on the golden track

I hope he puts me in my old stock car
