One Mile Deep

Ridin' two blind horses as they carry me to hell

I felt the mountain crumble as the walls began to fall

I left my home in Tennessee

To work a Kentucky coal mine in 1923

The ten of us were one mile deep

When the beams began to crack

We all went down in a coal mine

Though we never made it back
