Polishing the Stars

The room is getting bigger every year Although we never change it Somehow we now fit around the table We made your recipe just as you taught Put on the CD and pyjamas with the stars on and your name still on the label But while I miss you dearly I know you'll be back I see it clearly Maybe you are up there polishing the stars Maybe you'll come back another year however you may will appear Maybe you're already here Maybe I say that out of fear It's nothing new another Christmas without you Who knew how much you laugh when you are deep inside the grief I guess that it must be the love we all have left from all these years So while we're in the living room Singing with our bellies full We watch the lit up Christmas tree and happen to keep one chair free But while I miss you dearly I know you'll be back I see it clearly Maybe you are up there polishing the stars Maybe you'll come back another year however you may will appear Maybe you're already here Maybe I say that out of fear It's nothing new another Christmas without Kids playing Trees swaying Presents on display And mum's praying I'm saying I too miss you but it's okay It's okay It's okay Another year is coming to an end Christmas is over and I've spent Another silent night without you
