What was the connection to my depression, and all the drama surrounding me

All in all some things that happened long ago was still following me

Back when I was 23

But this year I'm really growing up, so I gotta handle this stuff

Everything's a lesson, so I'm confessing the impact it all had on me

23 is when I first saw scars

By 23 I had to work and pay these bills

Everybody said growing up

But what about 23

I think about when I was 23, it was a coming of age for me

Chasing after money, but life is funny, it made chase after the deeper things

All in all the things that found me long ago was more than I could see

Back when I was 23

Since then I had to learn to trust, and through it all I never gave up

Thinking back on lessons, the hidden blessings, were teaching me on how to be in love
