I read somewhere that there’s two types of strength

We’ve all been given

Two ways we can muscle through our lives

The first way is to try to hold the oceans back from flooding

Second way is to skim across the surface of the tide

So I’m just gonna love you

There’s no two ways about it

Even on the days you give me

Every reason I should doubt it

We both have said and done things

That we know are so regrettable

Me blaming you, and you blaming me

We should’ve outgrown the whole concept

Of finding fault long ago

Fault’s for kindergarteners and insurance companies

On the friction that grounds it
