I think about my great-grandfather a lot during this

He was someone that lost everything that he loved

He lost everything that he owned

His home

And this was during, you know

Such a traumatic time period

In 1915 where

He was the only person in our family left

He was the only person who managed to survive something so tragic

And I - trying to put myself in his shoes, where

You just find yourself losing everything and everyone

And losing hope

That - that was just so tough for me

And just to know that he found the strength to like move on

And to endure

And just to start over

And to continue his - his legacy of family and faith most importantly

That's just what inspired all these songs

It's what inspired my writing

And these songs have just been some of the most important songs I've ever written

And to think that, you know, everything that you possess in this world

Whether it's material things, money, fame, status, whatever

He just taught me that

The greatest legacy you can ever leave behind is your faith
