You didn't tell me of all the thoughts you choked on whilst making sure that I eat You didn't tell me how you let your heart freeze, and how your deepest worries and your heaviest dreams are stuck between the icebergs I only see as a mouth That only ever speaks the sun into my darkest days.

If I knew how often you needed saving, I would turn the clouds into capes and scatter them into every kitchen, adorn the neck of every sister if that's what it takes to make sure your necklace never becomes a rope or a chain keeping you silent.

How?

How is it that you men surrender us your arms whilst still concealing your heart

How do you give us music to move too whilst wanting nothing more than to be a note, a string, stroked delicately by soft palms that will cup to catch anything that leaks.

How often you silence yourself for others to speak And when they do

They say..all men are the same

Filled with anger and rage

But aren't both

just sadness that had nowhere to go?

I think if we pulled back each rib, one by one

We'd find that emotions run the same through everybodys blood

& All hearts need to be saved by love.
