[Intro]
Ah-ah-ah, ah (Mhm), ah
Mhm, mhm
Yeah
Ah-ah-ah
[Verse 1]
(When you were thinking about irreversible damage)
When I was thinking about irreversible damage?
In that conversation? Um
I guess I was, I was thinking about parts of myself
I was thinking about dreams I had had
Visions I had for myself, for my life, um, hopes
A belief even in, like, love and dreams coming true
A belief in, in like, I can, I can like heal my way out of a place
Even to say I don't feel that way anymore
I think that my understanding of those things
Drastically changed after massive, massive loss
And that like, with massive, major loss
And like the deepest, deepest grief
Something just like shatters
Something shattered in me, I suppose
And it was like, when you get shattered into a million pieces
Like, what do you do?
Like, what-what can you do when you shatter pieces?
But can they come back together?
And, you know, I, I imagine, some of those pieces, yeah
Like you can like pick them up and like build them into something new
But some of those pieces, you know, are so obliterated
That I think, like, they're just gone, and there's no coming back
[Instrumental]
And that's like how when you were talking about the grasslands
You know, when like you spend time there
You're very aware of how beautiful it is
You know, how wild it is
But the more time you spend there and the more you learn about history of land
You learn more about how completely devastated it's been
Completely destroyed (That will happen)
There's been such mass extinction there, you know, that like
No matter how much we try to restore it or protect it now
It'll never ever go back to where it was, ever
It's, it's gone, well, what it was is gone
But, you know, when you're standing there
In, you know, Big Sky Country
It's as wild as wild gets in some of those places, you know?
And there is no separation between you and God
You know, you're standing in that land (Right)
And you see, like even despite all the devastation
It's still beautiful, it's still wild, it's still alive
(You were saying) Well, you know, I, I might have misunderstood the mass devastation
I might, I might have been thinking that
You can bring it back to life, yes (To see everything)
(You say to see it as it is) To see it as it is
