One Glove

Where's the other one? Will we ever know?

Someone's all alone, shivering in the cold

On her left-hand side, but her right hand's warm

Well, her hands are two different temperatures in the middle of the storm

How could this have happened, what's a man to do?

Except trudge the snow and ice for a mile or two

One glove, heather grey and black

Where could it have gone? Will I ever get it back?

My equilibrium is all out of whack

And my core temperature is falling and falling fast

Yes, I could use one of those little hand warmer things, but they never seem to last

How could this have happened? What's a man to do?

Except walk through the wind whipping cold, looking for you

There was one dirty glove in the middle of the street

Illuminated by the light of Christmas Eve

Guided by the star that shines down on me

Well, I followed that light to the end of the road

Till I saw you with one hand in your pocket looking halfway cold

Now there's two gloves walking hand in hand

Was it Christmas magic we'll never understand?

Just one glove on the street

And one glove here with me
