I was a little boy in Illinois, shooting socks into a bin

Dreamin' of the NBA, while the clock counts down from ten

City park lights, on summer nights, just the hoop and me

I'll always love that 20-10 team, man we made history

And I can still see that come back soon sign, leavin' Robinson

I left everything I'd ever known, headed up north, hundred miles from home

I was missin' them, like they were missin' me

My first game, they packed all the seats

Even when I was missin' home, I had her to hold me close
