Summer '23

We were two dumb kids lost in time

You showed me a love that I couldn't find

I just knew it would work out

But like flowers in the winter, we didn't sprout

So I'll write an album hoping that you'll see

That it's always meant to be you and me

In the hopes that maybe you will find

This life could play out differently

But I know you'll probably never call

So I'll just dream of a life where we had it all

I know that I should be living free

But I can't stop thinking 'bout Summer '23

And I've tried being just your friend

Like"maybe this is how it's supposed to end"

But this doesn't make much sense

Just watching you hurt yourself again

I've showed you every sign

Still think you're the one I'm meant to find

So here's the bottom line

If we're meant to be, it'll come in time
