I'm out there waiting, out on the curb to catch the bus

Wave at the driver, I make sure she notices us

She's putting out her stop sign, the cars stop all around for us

And I feel real important, even though I'm the last one on the bus

From schoolday lessons to living in the grown up world

Learned my intentions were not enough to change the world

On my way to work each morning

On my way back home, I scream and cuss

Always life's intended victim, always the last one on the bus

Are you worried, I don't mind, in a hurry? Take your time

Up and down and to and fro, crises everywhere you go

It was easier back then, it was simpler that way

Let me just get off this bus, let me run around and play

I'm getting older and I look at things that might have been

I could be wealthy, I could be married like my friends

Life just gets too damn confusing, time just seems to move on right by us

So why I am the last to notice? Why am I the last one on the bus?

Stop signs are not perfect circles, learning goes on all the time for us

So go ahead and think you're special, even if you're the last one on the bus
