So now my baby mama
Moved back to Louisiana with my daughter
That kinda changed me
Not in a loud way
More like a quiet emptiness
Like a part of me
Got packed up and drove away
And before I could realize the process of that
Life kept moving
I met another one
We got serious
End up having another baby and got married
Now I'm trying to build a family all over again
Trying to do things differently
Or at least convincing myself I was
But the truth is
The relationship was toxic from the beginning
Too much tension
Too much pressure
Too much misunderstanding
Still
We got a house together
And the first thing I thought about
Was the studio
I turned the garage into my new recording space
So the garage became my escape
Became my therapy
My world
And even though life was changing
One thing stayed the same
I was still hustling
Still moving around
Still trying to make money every way I knew how
But now I had more responsibility than ever
A wife, kids, bills, mortgage
Dreams feel different when people depend on you
And my new baby mama
She wanted more from me
More stability
More security
More structure
So eventually
I went and got a job
A real job
Clocking in
Clocking out
Trying to play the role
That I thought I was supposed to play
And in a way
I sacrificed a part of me
To keep peace at home
I stopped feeding my passion
The way I wanted to
Start putting everybody else first
Except me
But no matter how I tried
Hours after work
I still ended up in the garage
Every night
Hour after hour
Recording
Mixing
Learning
Dreaming
Because something inside me
Wouldn't let it go
Music wasn't just a hobby no more
It was who I was
And she hated that
Always complaining
"You need a better job
You wasting time in the studio
Music ain't paying the bills"
And honestly
Part of me understood where she was coming from
But the bills were due
Real life was happening
But another part of me
Knew something she couldn't see yet
If I gave up on music completely
I'd lose myself
So the garage
Was the only place that I felt truly alive
The only place where the pressure disappeared
The only place where I still believed I could
Become something bigger than my circumstances
So while the world was telling me to let it go
My passion kept whispering the opposite
"Keep going"
And no matter how much pressure built around me
I couldn't quit
Not because it was easy
It was in me
