All That We Know

Do you still think about the day when We gave everything away just to be free? We threw all promise to the ground in hope That left without us they might keep. But nothing could have prepared us for the nightmare from which we couldn't wake. Ignoring all the warnings, We were distracted by the dreams we had faked. And so we let go of all that we know. And go step by step til we can stand on our own. So we let go of all that we know. There could have been a thousand people all around us, But they'd never see it all. The desperation overwhelmed us both. There was nothing left to break the fall. And every chance that came our way Was taken by our selfish need To hide away from everything by trying to forget how to feel. And so we let go of all that we know. And go step by step til we can stand on our own. So we let go of all that we know. And so we let go of all that we know. Because we don't have the power to stay in control. And we won't run and hide from the anger that we bury deep when we are free. And we sacrificed everything that could ever stand between, that could wake us from the dream.
