A Beginning

you and I were there when the sky was born and bled on us and though you didn't care you sure know what it meant and you and I were there when the swamps, they cooled and drew us in and though you didn't care you sure know what it meant and, yeah, you laughed and, yeah, you cried and all the rocks, they formed and then you fell yeah, you were so high and all the banks were drowned and then the evening took us in and drank out blood away and then we fell into the sky and the sun it fell away it fell away you and I were there when the egg, it hatched and showed us life and though she didn't care yeah, she sure knows what it meant and you and I were there when the clouds, they sank to tuck us in and though we didn't care yeah, we sure live what we dreamt
