What It Is

Turned off my phone today, stuck it in the drawer

It's too loud inside this empty house, so I walked out the door

Surrounded by what God had made, I couldn't help but stare

I need a little face-to-face time with the man upstairs

Looking at my life, it's time to make a change

So, I'm gonna spend my day slowing down the pace

I've got breath to breathe, a heart that beats

And a life that's full of simple things

And a little piece of Heaven right here in front of me

I got a truck that runs, a dog that hunts

And a good old-fashioned woman's love

Might not be much, but it's all I'll ever need

And you don't have to understand this life I lead

Just trying to live, it is what it is

And what it is, is good enough for me

Seems like when I hit my knees, I just ask for more

Always praying for the next best thing, 'stead of what I'm thankful for

Kneeling by my bed last night, the good Lord spoke to me

He said, "Son, what do you lack?

Look around, tell Me what you see," and now I see
