Conversation with Water Spirit

(One time thru)

Jumped across the train tracks

And never found my way back

Stumbled down the same path

As many have before

I wandered far as i could go

Until i came before a river nymph

Thirsty from my traveling

I asked her for a drink

She kind of smiled, told me, "sit"

So i sat upon the river bank

And then began to thank her

But she stopped me in my tracks

She said

"Before i give you water

Help me build a fire"

Parched i said, "alright, but listen close, i see you're nice in what you show

But i sense more than what i see, so with caution i implore

Are you a vision

Nothing more?

Or Nymph

Are you truly real

Do you live along the shore?"

"Do you live along this shore?"

She said nothing

She said nothing

She said nothing

She said nothing

So i struck my last match, and then I offered it to her

She made fire out of everything I ever spoke as words

The irony still burns

Cus i never got that drink

Now i never feel no thirst
