In a field in France by a gentle stream

There's a little white cross just underneath

A willow that weeps like the rain that's softly falling

Every once in a while if you look real close

A silhouette comes with a fresh cut rose

And she whispers his name like the sound of an angel calling

And the sun shines down while the wheat field waves

And the flower blooms on that little grave

But it's silent now no sound of a gun

And she waits for him while the river runs

Still Loved By Someone

In the spring of 44 they stormed that beach

There was Normandy within their reach

Just beyond the dunes was the sound of freedom calling

And they paid the price for the world to gain

The beginning of the end of a 1,000 year reign

As wave up on wave the tide of souls were falling

Now the sun shines down while the wheat field waves

And the flowers bloom on those little graves

Though it's silent now no sound of a gun

Keep remembering while the river runs

He was laid to rest on that fateful day

And the legend says as he passed away

He held to his heart one more tragic story

From his one true love a letter from home

A picture of her with a red, red rose

She said I'll come to you when this dreadful war is over

And now the sun shines down while the wheat field waves
