I've wandered for days, though for centuries it's seemed

For figments and fables, the city of dreams

Adrift in the desert, upon dunes I lie

Wishing for water and waiting to die

There just before, a mirage to be sure

Towering, silver, a great gilded door

Real as the warm rays that shine on my face

Towering tall beyond time, beyond space

I wondered if I'd ever get to see you again

My love I know it's been a long long time

The years have passed quickly and time has flown by,

Ever away blows the hourglass sand

As it carves out new lines on my face and my hands

And ever away all the memories I've made

But the one that remains is the sight of your face
