Daydrinker

The sun is rising

Shining on a new mistake

Where did my love go?

Guess the habits hard to break

It would be wise to sleep much longer

But I'd probably lose my mind

This small town skyline

It doesn't pressure me at all

I'm already on the floor

There is no height left to fall

The grand piano looks so lonely

I know exactly how she feels

I never had a penny to my name

But I know that I could change this world in some small way

Placed in the shade, daydrinker by trade

I wake up to see there's nobody here except me

Shadows form to dance mockingly.

I am fine with telling everyone I'm fine

truth is that I've been on a steady decline

I've been chasing wisdom all night long

The courage to change anything

I was never OK with dwindling away

hoping to do something right despite my shame

Slowly self-made, daydrinker by trade.

Here comes the rain (here´s my old friend)

I'm stuck in this hellavator going down again

What's left to gain?

I've been looking for shelter long enough

To ease my pain..

Am I willing to say

I do know the difference after all?

I think I'm fine with feeling small today

Tomorrow holds a promise that will change my ways

Finally at bay

I wake up to see, there is no one to rescue me.
