Tekst Utworu

As an exercise I create a timeline with you in it
Wherein you get better, save some money, decide to leave
We get a place in Ithaca near Sondra and Camille
It’s bright and warm and has your touch and room enough to breathe
Is it worth it to imagine how complete my life would be
Since there’s nothing that will ever bring you back
Trying to identify which parts of me died with you
Wondering if I’ll ever truly know myself without you
Trying to fill the hole inside
Give it a name at least
Only makes me question everything I do
And I thought with age the pain would ease
Yet earth's been shattering anew
Much to my disbelief
Its grief that keeps you close to me
Good grief, Good grief
Is there an innate hole from living in ways against our better nature
A hole from being a soul confined and ripped out of the ether
A hole of roads not taken, thriving in alternate universes
That leads to fears of missing out since stakes couldn’t be greater
In a fruitless, unending attempt to control the future
Life is slowly saying goodbye to everything you used to know
Adapting to and mourning what will never be
to find the will to grow, go on,
To love despite the crushing fear
To grieve to give and live in the uncertainty
And I thought with age the pain would ease
Yet earth's been shattering anew
Much to my disbelief
Its grief that keeps you close to me
Good grief , Good grief
And I thought with age the pain would ease
Yet earth's been shattering anew
Much to my disbelief
It’s grief that keeps you close to me
Good grief, Good grief
And I thought with age the pain would ease
Yet earths still shattering anew
Much to my disbelief
It’s grief that keeps you close to me
It’s grief keeping you close to me
Good grief, Good grief
As an exercise I create a timeline with you in it
