As I sit in the sun on this glorious morn, I’m surrounded by beauty and peace

I think to myself, if heaven's like this, then surely our worries should cease

I gaze on the village so sleepy and quiet, reflected in water so clear

While the boatmen prepare in the crisp morning air and the visitors stroll down the pier

They’re off to the Skelligs, that place of renown, where the monks spent their whole lives in prayer

While the gannets and seals patrol the blue seas, a sight that's both stunning and rare

At the break of the day, as the boats pull away from the harbor past inlet and sound

While the village still sleeps, men are crossing the deep on their way to the best fishing ground

As the evening sun sets and they haul in their nets, the boatmen return home once more

While a halo of gold washed the fish in the holds, as the boats are tied up at the shore

As I gaze to the west, I see the Skelligs at rest on a sea that's so tranquil and blue
