The Word

I stand on the Word of the Lord, hey My first and my final resort, hey The Word became flesh walked the earth, hey His glory and infinite worth, hey He left it to die for his church, hey He died and He finished His work, hey Was buried the rose on the third, hey We love Him 'cuz He loved us first, hey The Truth and the Life and the Light and the Way Came down to this earth to be born in the hay The Savior of all of us born as a Babe The shepherds rejoicing and singing His praise The magi were watching the stars they say "hey" The star of the King it appeared here today In the palace saw Herod they stood there dismayed You ain't the King He was born what's the way? Herod was angry but what did he say He asked the scribes where Messiah would lay In Bethlehem boy what the prophets did say Herod then bid them farewell on their way If you see Him then bring Him I'll Worship Him hey The angel would tell em don't do what he say So after they see Him they take a new way Herod was angry and he felt betrayed He didn't want others to rule in his place He came up with a plan to take Jesus away All boys two and under were murdered that day An angel told Joseph, "get up run away!"
