"Have you seen the papers today?" he asks

But he knows the answer - he posed himslef the question

Sucking up the misery at 'The End Of The World'

And twice a week it ends badly like this

The half-way point between work and The Apocalypse

Got a coffee on his desktop and a gasmask in the drawer.

And somwhere, in the darkness

He finds a way - another day

Is not out of the question depite media congestion

Of prophecies of doom

"It's improbable that we are here at all!"

They'll tell you gleefully while staring at the walls

Of video screens that never stop talking

And if they hold the war off for another week

He can finish those figures - his boss won't freak

They can have Judgement Day

With a balancing ledger

Somehere, in the cacophany...

... there's a good idea, one not based on fear

But the government's on vacation

And the thoughts of the Nation are not on the side

Of This Great Divide!

Its a Fine Line!

And we can hope the Fine Line will bring "them" to heel

'Cos it's no joke!

You don't need a "War On Woke" - (or anything else for that matter)

"Did you see the TV tonight?" he asks

He knows they've got him on a short rope,
