VII. Within Without (Liberation)

I breathe

In through my nose

I count to nine

I let the air fill my belly

It reaches down into the ground

It crosses to the other side

And then I exhale

Out through my mouth

I relax into the wind

My breath flies, lifts my soul up

And my bones follow:

From the toe bone to the heel bone

Heel bone to the foot bone

Foot bone to the ankle bone

Ankle bone to the shin bone

Shin bone to the knee bone

Knee bone to the thigh bone

Thigh bone to the hip bone

Hip bone to the tailbone

Tail bone then the back bone

Back bone then the shoulder bone

Shoulder bone and the arm bone

Arm bone and the hand bone

Hand bone and the neck bone

Neck bone and the jaw bone

Jaw bone and the head bone

Ase, the dead arise

Like an army to fight

Like a storm

I feel my wings spread

In a whirlwind

There is lightning around us

And thunder booms

The stars begin to rain down

And there is light everywhere

I see someone with woolen hair

And feet like bronze

And another with a crown of flowers

And a dress made from the sun and moon

I hear it said:

"We are beautiful"

"We are beautiful"
