I swear I’ll never abandon you, in life…with no protection at all.

I’m busy doing the best I can, even though I know it’s never my call.

The sun’s setting so early now, and the smoke from fire blacks out the skies.

Happy days when my privilege shows, and my smile fades, along with the lies.

It’s getting harder to hold my head, and the fear is overwhelming and blind.

I’ve not so into conspiracies, now the truth is getting harder to find.

And love is not a commodity that we trade in during turbulent times.

My heart’s been broken so many ways, so what’s the risk in laying love on the line?

A year that feels like months that never will end.

Without the touch of all your lovers and friends.
